This auction is for one 2 year old Araucaria araucana Tree (Monkey Puzzle Tree)
Araucaria araucana or Monkey Puzzle Tree is a unique tree native to Chile. The tree, a conifer, gets its common name from the fact that the leaves are super sharp and it is said that a monkey would be puzzled as to how to climb the tree. This tree will tolerate almost any soil type, although it likes locations with good drainage. This species will tolerate temperatures down to -20 C. It will also tolerate warmer temperatures (there is one growing on the grounds of Disney’s Animal Kingdom).
The symmetrical nature of the tree and early branching makes the tree a great focal point for a landscape project or a fantastic bonsai subject. You will receive a 2 year old tree, between 5-7 inches and starting to branch (like displayed in the pictures).
Hardy to US zone 4. Prefers Sunny Locations
